Reiki First Degree

Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) means the universal life force energy that resides within and around all living things. A Reiki treatment is a gentle, non-invasive yet powerful healing technique that affects the whole person by enhancing the natural ability of the body and mind to move toward greater balance and harmony.

In the Reiki First Degree workshop students learn the basics of this healing practice. The focus is on daily self-practice so you can bring balance into your life. In this practical training you learn about the history of Reiki, its applications and how to give hands on treatments to yourself and others. Reiki energy is activated by receiving attunements. No prior experience is required. Reiki treatments and practice is beneficial to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Upon completion of Reiki First Degree you will have the opportunity to volunteer at the Restorative Yoga with Reiki workshops or other Healing Centers in the Bay Area, as well as participate in Reiki Shares.

Here is a great article by Pamela Miles about things to consider when choosing a Reiki class:

Second degree Reiki augments the first degree practice.  In the Second Degree Reiki class, students learn to offer distant, no-touch Reiki treatments. They also learn techniques to enhance their hands-on Reiki healing. If you have learned first degree Reiki with me and have been practicing self-treatments daily for at least three months, please contact me directly, to sign up for this class.
